Tom Welsh Photography was founded in 2007 after years of study in both photography and art. Growing up in SW PA., when not playing football, baseball or riding my bike I could be found drawing and painting or out with my camera taking pictures. These interests remained through College and then once my 3 boys were born, photography became the main focus. When digital began to replace film in the mid 90s I got my hands on a Sony Mavica camera. The quality of the pictures were not very good at all but once the files were imported into the computer and could be manipulated through software, the creativity I once had with drawing and painting was once again realized. Through the years I have combined my artistry with skills in photography to create images that are inspiring, ageless and timely. I believe in creating memories that provide “great images at great value” as well as an experience that is “all about you”!! They are your images after all and you should be able to get the images you want; whether digital or in print form, at a price you can afford and have “fun” doing it!

Since opening Tom Welsh Photography in 2007, I have been recognized multiple times from the Professional Photography community for excellence in capturing and creating images that inspire. 

I have been awarded the Fuji Masterpiece Award. The award is given to the maker of the best image in its category at annual print competitions held by affiliates of the Professional Photographers of America (PPA).  I have also received numerous “Merit” awards from the Professional Photographers of America and was awarded a Silver Photographer of the Year award in 2015. I have taught and presented workshops on lighting, exposure, posing as well as Photoshop and Lightroom techniques to professionals across Ohio.
